Educational consulting

Dr. Tracy L.F. Worley, MFA, PMP, CNC

Lead Educational Consultant

A Pegagogy of Fulfillment

 Collaborative, Integrative, Reflective

In this post-COVID digital age, learners have a new appreciation for digital interactions and resources.  I believe that all learners, young and old, deserve access to materials that will help them develop cognitively. And those materials need to be culturally relevant to the learners' lived experiences.

As an educator, I seek to ensure that my students get my best -- a capable and accessible facilitator, knowledgeable and culturally responsive, ready to innovate toward cognitive empowerment, and fostering an environment of cultural competence -- so I can prepare them to be their best.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

As an active scholar and dedicated educator, I engage my students in a quality learning experience, using multiple interfaces for face-to-face and remote learning, that provides learners with the benefit of my diverse, practical knowledge and expertise. I am committed to providing positive, constructive feedback and experienced in giving clear, quality written, audiovisual, and verbal instruction to students (who are in the classroom and remotely located) who have diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and learning needs. I pride myself on rapport-building and teamwork with my peers and my students.

In addition to over 10 years of cumulative experience evaluating student performance and assessing student learning, I have collaborated with colleagues on research and development for open educational resources (OER). I have developed and evaluated an OER for college English composition, and my open access publication, Discourse Community for Future Business Leaders, is available through Pressbooks (University of Baltimore). I am committed to teaching excellence and utilizing an open, student-centered pedagogy that helps students develop and evolve their problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

As a published author, research grantee and peer reviewer, I am committed to advocacy for scholars in all disciplines. I have refereed multiple articles for Feminist Media Studies, and my arts curriculum for K-12 students, Art for Health, is designed to promote mental and physical health through arts appreciation. I have presented at several educational conferences including the Maryland Open Source Textbook Initiative and the Online Learning Consortium, and my research on African American female leadership in major box office cinema is in press.
